There is still a market every Tuesday in Desenzano. The day of the week has not changed from that of the long ago past, but the goods and the crowds of customers have changed completely. There are no more boatmen, no porters, no Swiss merchants in their frock coats and top hats, no farmers wrapped in their black cloaks: a crowd of people that has disappeared over the years and only lives on in memories. Desenzano's market has changed radically, as have so many things during the past fifty years. During the summer months the market attracts many tourists from surrounding resorts, all searching for something interesting to buy.
