Desenzano
S. Maria Maddalena Cathedral

This church, built to a design by Giulio Todeschini and dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene, was consecrated by the bishop of Verona in 1611. The Holy Chapel houses the splendid "Last Supper" by Gian Battista Tiepolo.

Sanctuary of Madonna delle Grazie

Run by Franciscan Friars Minor. Founded in 1483. The existing church is in neoclassical style and is aisleless. In the monastery there is a missionary museum. Next to the sanctuary stands the "House of the third Franciscan order in Betania" which offers hospitality and accommodation.

Tignale
Sanctuary of Madonna di Montecastello

Run by the secular clergy. Standing on a cliff overlooking the lake it is made up of a lower Romanesque-gothic style church with frescoes from the late 1400s and a baroque style upper church Halls for pilgrims. Nearby stands the hermitage, centre of spirituality and meditation.

Sanctuary of Madonna del Carmine

Run by Carmelite Friars. The church dates back to the XV century, it is aisleless and the style is Romanesque-gothic Veneto-Lombard. Rich with frescoes from the XV and XVI centuries. Next to the sanctuary stands "Il Carmine", a house which offers hospitality and accommodation to pilgrims.

Abbey of Maguzzano

Run by the Poor Servants of the Divine Providence. Old Benedictine Abbey which has been subjected to many ups and downs. The Renaissance church is aisleless; the monastery is elegant and harmonious; The "Abbey of Maguzzano ecumenical centre" has its seat here and offers ecumenical meetings and activities. It offers hospitality and accommodation and organises spiritual retreats and courses in spiritual exercise.

Santuario Basilical Sanctuary of San Luigi Gonzaga

Run by the secular clergy. The baroque style church was begun in 1608 to honour Luigi Gonzaga and was completed in the following century with the canonisation of the patron of the young. It has been a minor Basilica since 1964. It is rich in paintings, statues, marbles and sculptures.

Basilical Sanctuary of Madonna della Corona

Run by the secular clergy. It stands on Mount Baldo halfway up a vertical rock-face; built in 1625 it was subjected to subsequent and continuous improvements and completion. It has been a minor Basilica since 1982.

Bardolino
Hermitage of Monte San Giorgio

Run by Camaldolite Benedictine monks. It stands on a promontory, which dominates the eastern coast of Lake Garda, in a panoramic position where a small church already existed from 862 to 1532. On the top of the promontory a Way of the Cross has been constructed. It is possible to find hospitality here and to participate in the religious lives of the monks and in their sacred rituals.

Sanctuary of Beata Vergine Maria delle Grazie

Run by the secular clergy. Erected at the end of the 1300s the church is gothic-Longobard style, it is aisleless, it has frescoes from the XVI and XVII centuries. The sanctuary has votive origins for having escaped the danger of the plague. It stands on the outskirts of Mantua.

Sanctuary of Madonna del Frassino

Run by Franciscan Friars Minor. The church and its convent were erected in 1514. Its origins are linked to the miraculous apparition of the statuette of the Madonna which is worshipped here. The church is aisleless and houses frescoes from the 1600s. Next to the sanctuary stands the "Franciscan House" for hospitality and accommodation. Halls for pilgrims.

Mantova
Sant’Andrea Basilica

Run by the secular clergy. It is the most prestigious church from an architectural point of view, designed during the Renaissance period by Leon Battista Alberti. In the crypt there are Sacred Vessels which are said to hold earth soaked with the Blood of Christ. It is a monument of great architectural and artistic beauty, it also houses the funeral chapel of Mantegna.
